Happy Mothers Day!!

Happy Mothers Day for yesterday to us all. I got a few beautiful things from my boys and a game for my Nintendo DS. I'm a lucky girl. My most favourite thing is the necklace that Josh picked out all by himself. It's red with different colours fired over the top of it.

We went out for tea at the Hogs Breath Cafe at Cleveland on Saturday night. I would highly recommend it. Beautiful food and fantastic service. We didn't want for anything at all. Should do it more often.

That's all for now.

My work from the Retreat.

I promised that I would put my layouts etc from the retreat up here once I had photographed them.

So here they are:

The top one is a 3d layout from a workshop run by the talented Carol Janson.
The bottom layout is from a workshop run by Kerri from Scrapbook City.
I'm pretty pleased with them both.

Then there's this one:

That's from a Family Album Workshop from the Retreat.

Hope you like them. Please leave me a comment. I really don't think anyone reads this blog at all.

Ahhh, long weekends are so nice aren't they? Well, when I get one I'll let you know. But then again I've had the best 2 long weekends in quite a while. Last weekend was the Scrapbook City Retreat. Ladies, gotta tell you again, I had the greatest time and when they call for deposits for next year, I'll be on the phone quicker than I can write a post on my blog.

Saturday Night Mum and I went to the Ascot Taxi Co-Operative Reunion. I worked there in the Radio Room from 1989 to 1993 when the company was absorbed by Black & White Cabs. They were the days where everything was NOT computer orientated and we had great fun telling Men where to go. I wish I could go back to those days. We got to see so many people we had not caught up with in about 10 years. They are hoping to do this again next year. Maybe I should start rounding up the crowd for that. There were a lot that weren't there that should have been, but stubborn ego and pride got in the way (and you know who you are)

Yesterday I went to the 60th Birthday Party for my Gorgeous Friend Kaye. Her birthday isn't for a couple of weeks though. Here's a photo of her with her cake.

Today all I've done is the washing and it's been great. Although I have the Wiggles coming through my left ear and DH is watching Alien vs Predator 2 in the lounge room so that's coming through my right. Ahhhh, domestic bliss. At least I have my music on my computer. LOL.

Back From The Retreat.

I'm back from the Scrapbook City Retreat. It was the most fabulous 3 days of scrapping that I have done in quite some time. Thanks to Kerri and Leisa from the shop for all their organisation.

I also loved being part of the "Room 20 Group" - There was Terri, Milly, Meg, Niss, Sue, Ronnie, Deb, Sandra, Carol and of course the lovely Jen. We dressed up for the Party Night - The theme of which was "come dressed as your favourite Movie Character" I don't have any photos yet but we went as the cast of the "Wizard of Oz" When I get the photos I will upload some here. We had a great night.

I did a bit of scrapping (of course) I started the Family Album which was a workshop, I did 3 layouts (1 was a workshop by the very talented Carole Janson) some Easter Cards (yep, too late for this year, so pretty early for next year)

All in all, I had the best time and thanks to the Room 20 girlies, bring on Next Year!!

luv,

Jo.

Yay!! Only 5 more sleeps to go till the Scrapbook City Retreat!! I am so looking forward to it. I have to get through this week though. We have a House Inspection on Wednesday. I really don't like them as I feel that my life is being looked over and it makes me uncomfortable.

So what's happened this week?

1. Joshua went on his First School Camp. He had a great time, came home filthy dirty (and that's just from the last day - he actually did shower each day) and every item of clothing in his bag needs washing. He can't remember if he used everything so I'm erring on the side of caution and washing the lot!.

2. Ralph turned 40 on Thursday. Yes, he made it. There were days where I had my doubts because I wanted to strangle him for various misdemeanours but all in all, he arrived safely. We are going out for dinner tonight to celebrate and if I receive 1 more telephone call saying "honey,so and so is coming on Saturday night" I think I'll scream. We're up to 27 people so far. The restaurant only holds about 50 I think. I'm pretty sure they cringe when I ring to add more people to the list. I told him no more. lol. I know he's a popular boy but I'm starting to think maybe a backyard bbq might have been the way to go.

3. I got to be the boss at work this week for a couple of days. It was interesting but definitely not something I would do on a regular basis.

4. I finally learnt how to burn photos to cd. Mind you I had to take the laptop to work to get the boys in IT to help me. Thanks Glenn. And he even said that I could come back and ask for help again. Probably take him up on that at least once a week. Vista is not something that I would actively seek out to put on my computer.

That's it for now.

Till next time.

Please read and sign - Pensioners need a fair go.

This story was on Today Tonight this evening. The average pensioner is surviving on $270.00 per week. That won't even pay my rent. They need and deserve better than what they are getting. Please read and sign - Petition for a fair go for pensioners

I was number 2067 but we need heaps more signatures for it to make a difference.

School Holidays are here!! I'm on holidays too. Started them a bit early though as DS#2 got the vomiting virus. I do not like being chucked on several times in the one day.

We aren't doing much this time as they are only a week but going to the movies tomorrow with a friend and her 2 boys. Also off to Southbank on Thursday for a swim and lunch/ice cream. The weather had better warm up though!

We have gone ahead and booked our family holiday - August this year at Ashmore Palms. It's one of the Big 4 Caravan Parks but this one does cabins instead. I fully intend to have a look at the Scrap Shops on the Gold Coast whilst down there. If you know of some that I can go check out, please let me know.

That's it for now. Stay safe.
